Hanger 18 Kickstarter Progress

The Hanger 18 Kickstarter is moving along quite nicely at this point, currently approaching 17.5K which will release three more miniatures to choose from. There are now some painted samples as well as master casts being shown off so I thought I would post them here just to wet your appetite.

Hanger 18 Reboots their Kickstarter

I see this morning that Hanger 18 rebooted their kickstarter. I read through it and I think they are definitely on the right track this time and I expect it to be quite successful. A big plus is it looks like a fair number if not all of the sculpts are finished so they shouldn't have a problem hitting their delivery dates unless the whole thing just explodes.If you don't like 54mm there is an option for smaller 32mm versions as well. I'm in the midst of a job change right now so I'm not sure I have the funds to jump in but if you like the bawidamann art style for pin ups I think you will love these. I have seen a couple of the prototypes up close and personal and I think they are going to be great!

Kickstarter - Hangar 18 Cancelled

I learned of this several days ago but I have been so busy its hard to find time to post right now. The folks at Hangar 18 have decided to shut down their Kickstarter. Things had been stalled at the $16,000 mark and it seemed doubtful that they were going to reach their initial goal of $25,000. Never fear though they will return in a couple of months with a completely re-vamped kickstarter that will likely feature 32mm versions as well as the 54mm and possibly some larger ones as well. Kickstarter - Hangar 18 Pinups - Death From Above

I know there hasn't been a lot of activity here lately but I have taken a position with another company and its definitely taking a lot of my time to settle in. I'm also traveling a lot and I can't really bring my supplies in my carry on luggage. Its a shame to because all of a sudden I have a lot of free time in the evenings now. I guess I should really spend some time on getting my Traveller campaign into shape.

The folks at Hangar 18 have posted the images for the 3D render of Death from Above. This is truly a classic WWII Bomber nose art piece. And if the paycheck comes through the way its suppose to I'll be adding this one to my pledge. If I can only afford one, this will be it. I have always loved the bomber nose art style and I love the way this render has come out. Great Stuff! Go over and lay your money down!

Kickstarter; Hangar 18 Pinups - Army Ranger

Hangar 18 has posted up a picture of the render for the Army Ranger. She will be kneeling on top of what might be the hood of a Jeep. I like this one, and its the one I'm currently on the hook for.

Kickstarter; Hanger 18 Pinups - First Stretch Goal

So the Hanger 18 folks hit their first stretch goal which adds a photo backdrop to pretty much everything. Although I haven't used their backdrops yet, they have gotten some excellent reviews on them so this is a good freebie add to the miniatures. Its not moving as fast as I would like it to. I'm not surprised as larger scale miniatures like this are just not as popular amongst the audience that was likely to see them first. However, I think once we get the word spread to more miniature painters things will start to take off. I really want that next miniature unlocked at $25,000, its definitely one of the six that I want.

They have also posted the initial 3D render for the Hot Rounds Sniper and have a picture (which I snagged) that shows their remarks back to the sculptor.

Kickstarter; Hanger 18 Pinups - Bawidamann Style

It seem to be my month for pushing Kickstarters. This one is for a new 54mm line from some friends of mine and members of my painting group the CMPA (Colorado Miniature Painting Alliance). Unlike other Kickstarters I have had a chance to actually see the prototype 3D sculpt in person, pretty darn cool.

Andrew Bawidamann definitely has a style all his own and I quite like his artwork. To see some of it come alive as a miniature is truly amazing. These are definitely display pieces not gaming pieces but I think even my gaming and model railroad followers can appreciate these.
